I am starting an undergraduate research journal in the Natural Sciences at my university. I have done research before and submitted articles to other undergraduate journals in the US.

But Would it look tacky/wrong/weird if I submitted some of my own work to my journal?

Are there ethical implications or does it just look tacky?

It should be OK but you may be held up to a higher standard. If you document your research and use footnotes, there's no reason why your work should be excluded.

It depends partly on the tone of your publication, too. If you take more of an opinion-oriented approach, it might be better for you to sit on the sidelines and comment about the other articles.

It would also be good if there is some kind of peer review for publication. Your articles would go through the same peer review process as the others, so the credibility should be the same.
