can convict fish kill a fairly large plecostomus?

i've had him for like 4 yrs bought him from the local petstore and today i woke up and he was dead :( can convicts kill him? they have babies. and the adults kept nipping at his tail :( please help!!
 
Oh yes they can...especially convicts. Sorry to hear about your pleco. Convict cichlids are about the most vicious of cichlids you can get. If they've had babies...your pleco didn't stand a chance. I have a friend that had 2 plecos in her tank when her convicts had babies and they both were killed off. Don't even try to put another one in there because it will only get killed off also. So sorry :(
 
well i suggest that defiantly the adult cichlids have killed especially if they have young however the pleco probably no better bebecausehese fish are quit aggressive to fish's fry (pleco's need a meet diet asas-well.

my exexperience with pleco's and Research tell me that this is the incident that happend.
