Can anything influence the results of an EMG?

For example, if you had two EMG's, one on neurontin and one without, would you get the same results? Or if you were fatigued that day, etc.

Anyone have any experiences with this?

This is an interesting question. Several months ago my brother-in-law was in the hospital for a heart attack and tons of other medical complictions.
He was under tons of medication. At one point due to the medication that my brother in law on was pretty well sedated and not responsive. They did an EMG and said he had severe brain damage. My sister and I said we didnt believe it. We felt that his response or lack of was due to all the medication that he was on and questioned how the EMG could be right. We didnt believe the EMG results.
They eventually did an MRI and the MRI was NORMAL. My brother in law eventually passed away due to heart attack and complications. But we felt the medications did affect the EMG results. Just our opinion. Stragne how the EMG would show severe brain damage and the MRI was normal.
