Can anyone think of an interesting Sci-Fi question to base my Media Studies project on?

In my project, I have to talk about and compare Sunshine, Star Trek, Starship Troopers and War of the Worlds.
My question can be based on anything associated with Sci Fi, politics, global warming theories, technology behind it, how it evolved over the years etc.
