It's supposed to be the opposite of the Narnia series, which is (supposed to be) the re-telling of the story of Christ.
I hear there's all sorts of anti-god messages and "symbolism", but dang if I can see any of it.
I've got Narnia, skip Narnia. Don't need any info on Narnia.
I want to know what's so "anti-god" about "The Golden Compass".
P.S. No, it's not for a book report. It's a hotly debated subject in my family right now, and I think it's a load of crap. Can/does anyone out there say differently?
