Can anyone sell electronics without warranty in UK?

I bought a new IP Phone and the service from a telecom company (simpleippbx.com) few months back and recently it stops working. It is still under warranty (assuming normal practice- one year). I have contacted the company and they are saying that there is no warranty for the above handset I bought and I wasn't told about it.

Now, my question is if it is legal to sell any electronics without warranty in UK?
