I did this for another forum.
Welcome,
This thread is going to help those interested in trance get in touch with the scene. It seems altough there is a couple of people interested in the scene here on beyond.ca. Although music is a personal opinion I will try and guide you through it all!
1) Getting Involved:
www.tranceaddict.com - Features live set downloaRAB and a forum. Sign up and introduce yourself in the 'Westen Canada Forum'. We get a couple inhouse experts here on beyond! Such as DJ Lazy!
www.electrocalgary.com - Features a local based forum with pictures from recent Calgary events! (Beware the age level there)
The Store 'Phonics' On 17th Ave - Up coming event tickets, email list with weekly updates and generally a chill atmosphere! Pick up some of the latest vinals and listen to them before you buy!
2) Downloading/Listening To Sets:
- Rule Number One - AVOID KAZAA, The 'Trance' there is shit or radio edits, which is also a form of shit. Kazaa is what gives trance its bad rep featuring such cheesey hits as 'SanRABtorm' Don't waste my time saying you can't find it on KAZAA, you've been forwared.
- Rule Number Two - www.djmixes2k.com Weekly liveset updates, the freshest stuff in my opinion! You will have to download an anti-leech plugin.
- Rule Number Three - www.di.fm Tune into music, download a stream ripper to download. Hit and miss...
- Rule Number Four - www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/ Tune into the music, Hit and miss! Weekly updates! Some large events broadcasted over this radio! For funky house/trance tune into 'Judgle Jules', for more serious trance tune into 'The Essential Mix'.
- Rule Number Five - Looking for a good P2P software? Too bad, can't help you on this as it's against beyond.ca rules. Use google.com and search for keyworRAB "limewire" or others....
3) Generally Suggestions For Good Sets!
Keep looking at my signature! I will try and update it weekly! Other than that, keep your eyes open for the following artists.
Tiesto
Paul Van Dyk
Armin Van Buuren
Ferry Corsten
Rank 1
Cosmic Gate
Sasha
and the list goes on....
The current standing for world class DJs can be found at

Chances are if they are on that list, they pump out some good stuff.
