D DVN New member Aug 13, 2009 #1 a physics question? The answer book shows the following: Initial momentum = m x v = mv Final momentum = (m x 1/2v) + (m x 1/2v) = mv How come the answer is not 2mv.The 1/2v's added up to give v, why doesn't m + m give 2m?? Thx!
