Can anyone make a good argument for picking a Storm2 over a Droid Incredible?

I am a present BB user, personal use only, and very comfortable with my Curve, though not happy with its limitations compared to what is now out there (the Curve itself and that it's Rev0.) I am enamored with all that I've read about the Incredible, and am almost sure I'll order one for delivery on 4-29, but there is something holding me back---will I miss the ease and relative simplicity of using a BB? Will I miss the push e-mail? Is the Storm2 more "fun" than a Curve? Playing with one in the store--I think so, but will I regret not getting what appears to be a very fun phone--the Incredible? I know you can't answer that, but these are my thoughts.

I realize picking a new phone is very subjective, but would like others' thoughts on this, either for or against the Storm2 compared to the Incredible. Thanks for your input...

Moving from BlackBerry to Android can be a little confusing at first, and I have tried it. I have ended up back on BlackBerry just due to the fact that it works for me. You need to see if Android is what you need for daily use, or if BlackBerry just gets it done for you. I think that they both have their strong and weak points. Don't get stuck on one OS because you are used to it. Several people have made the move, and have never looked back. BlackBerry isn't for everyone. It is a little on the boring and plain side compared to Android, and I don't think anyone will argue that it isn't.

As for the Storm2 vs. the Curve, it's a pretty big jump. The Storm2 has a much nicer and bigger screen, faster browser, better camera, WiFi, better OS, more memory, GPS....the list goes on and on.

As for fun, what do you mean? Do you want more media type stuff, like movies, music, etc. or do you just want the cool factor of it? Either way, the Storm2 is a big improvement over the 8330.

Heavy: By fun, I mean customization, but I have to figure out if customization is worth it for moving from the BB. I like the Android app store better as well, the BB app store is poor in my opinion. As for music and movies on the go, that's why I own an iPod ;)

As far as customization, both devices offer customization. You can create themes for the Storm2 using the free Theme Builder program from Research In Motion. I don't know how involved it is to make a theme or skin for an Android device, but they are out there for sure.

Maybe if you have a deeply rooted love for BBM, and the need to instantly have your emails, otherwise there is no reason why. I've never regarded blackberries as being simplistic.

If you really like the Droid Incredible go ahead. If you like to stay with Blackberry, get the upcoming Bold 9650 instead (formerly Tour2).

As for simplicity, I find Android quite simple to use. Simpler in many ways over the BB OS really, although the BB OS is simple enough until you get to some of the app menus. When it comes to configuring and settings, the Android is definitely simpler than the BB. The BB, like Symbian S60, once you start going deep, also starts assuming you're some IT data administrator.

If you're coming from the Curve, you will not LIKE the Storm2 touchscreen which can be annoying. The Droid Incredible should offer a better touchscreen experience but then again, based on your taste it may not be a complete substitute to a real keyboard. The Bold 9650, inheriting the keyboard from the 9630, definitely has one of the best physical keyboards I ever used and better than any of the Curve in my opinion.

I have to disagree here, especially when you start downloading apps that override the default settings on Android, which happens quite often. It becomes a complicated mess. For instance, Handcent SMS. When you have to start changing alert notifications, it is no longer a simple process of adding an application. Also, let it be known, on Android, you will be downloading replacement applications for things that come out of the box on most phones, including some dumb phones, like sound profile management and a note pad.

I am curious to know what parts of the app menus on the BB OS are confusing?

In Blackberry, before every app is run or installed, it also requires a checklist of approval for the app to do this and that. So those apps do change the settings on the Blackberry.

I find the settings easier and better organized on the Android. The Options on the Blackberry gives one long list, and it seems you returned back to the late eighties in computing.

If you like to see a difference how apps are configured, try configuring Ubertwitter on Blackberry then compare that to configuring Twidroid on Android.

Having used the Incredible I would say I would prefer it to my Bold 9700 for all things.

And everyone I know (including myself) prefers the Bold 9700 to the Storm 2.

For the record, it isn't just Android either. I prefer the Bold 9700 to my old Milestone, for example. But there's just something about the Incredible.
