As a deprived child I used to get my kicks by taking the back off my Granddad's old fashioned radios, and prodding about the inside with a pair of eyebrow tweezers 
The things that fascinated the most were these little 'flattened balloon' type items that I used to bend backwards and forwards..they came in a multitude of colours and usually had numbers on them. What are they?
