can anyone help with MAC/Apple?

I have an Apple/MAC computer. recently my mouse stopped scrolling down. I can scroll up, but not down. I have gone into the preferences and settings and chagned that but it still is not working. can anyone help? the little gray ball on my mouse WILL physically scoll up and down but on the computer screen it will not scoll my screen down. please help. thanks
