Can anyone help me get ASF files in Media Player to play with sound.?

I recently re-installed windows and now the video files I have that are ASF format won't play with sound in Media Player. Even some of the WMV files I had on there before won't play anymore either. Some do though. I don't get it. Can anyone offer an explanation and/or possibly a remedy?

Try winamp. It plays asf and a whole lot more.

But if you reinstalled windows, then you probably need to update you media player.
