Can anyone help me find this book?

My sister in law told me about a book that sounded really interesting but she can't remember the name. But it takes place back in the time of castles, kings and queens. And it about a girl who doesn't want to get married but her parents are always bugging her about it. So she one day gets married to get away from her parents.And not long after getting married he dies. Well he leaves behind letters and stuff like that. As she reads the letters she falls in love with him.

Any ideas??
