I made a decision today. I will never again look up my symptoms online. Not once, not one freaking time has it gave me reassurance when a weird problem arises. The symptoms are always life threatening.
So here I again, deep in fear and anxiety over a seemly minor symptom that refuses to go away. I was sitting at work and felt nurabness in my left arm. I straighten my arm out, but the sensation wouldn't go away. It seemed to settle mainly in my left pinky finger tip. I immediately thought it had some relation to the neck pain problems I've had lately.
But after several hours, I looked it up online, and my fear shot through the roof. Left arm nurabness - major sign of stroke, heart attack, get to ER immediately. Oh God, I started feeling those panic attack chest pains, wondering what to do. Could death be at my doorstep? Should I run to the ER? I don't know the medical community here, new in town, no frienRAB, no health insurance. I'm terrified.
I drove home instead and took my blood pressure. It was normal. I did some jumping jacks and I didn't feel any crushing chest pain. Determined that it is all in my head, I went to the gym, did a 15 minute cardio workout, and felt great afterwarRAB! No chest pain at all.
Unfortunately, the nurabness is still here. Can anyone help reassure me that I'm going to be ok? I had a chiro adjust my neck on Friday so now I got the fear of having a stroke. WHy did it have to be the left arm?? Right now, the nurabness is mainly in my hand and pinky finger.
