Can anyone explain this question to me on Abraham Lincoln?

Do you think that President Lincoln was justified in his violations of ordinary civil liberties during Civil War? Why?

I haven't been able to find anything that Lincoln did that violated ordinary civil liberties besides the suspension of habeas corpus, which was allowed.
