Can anyone explain NASCAR?

I understand the appeal of watching American Football, baseball, Soccer or other sports which require a high level of athletic skill.

But how can anyone watch a few dozen cars driving around a track? How can anyone be entertained by that?

Off road racing I get, change of scenery, enviroments etc, but NASCAR just seems like mental masturbation to me. I dont get it
 
i have been to one race & i didn't think i would be at all impressed but i was actually. it's something about hearing the roar of their engines & watching them FLY around the track & potentially spinning out of control & causing a huge wreck. it was kinda exciting!
 
I watch it because I love seeing the big wrecks happening, I like it because they are going over 100 mph racing, the best part is that there are 43 cars ! !
Just think of the chances of a crash with 43 cars !!
I also have a favorite driver, #24, Jeff Gordon =D
He did a lot better than I thought he would last night and I am still happy about it.

Its very simple: Its a bunch of dumba$$ed hillbillys going around in circles in tin cans looking to die...."OH LOOK" Their makin a left turn!!!! OH wow...their makin another left turn....DANG...their making another left turn....."Hand me another bud there Bubba!!!!"...
 
racing in proper race track is good for fans of motorsports

But NASCAR lacks such autoracing appeal because they go around in circle over and over agian.
