I was just put on Paxil 4 days go, 10mg. My dr and I are trying to get the bottom of my symptoms ( text book anxiety attacks after having knee surgery 2 months ago) so she put me on Paxil, she wants me to try 10mg for a month just give me break and see if I can break this cycle of anxiety attacks I'v found myself in .

I've gone from being a coffee junkie to NO caffine and taking Paxil just this week. I also stopped taking concerta, which for 3 yrs was the answer to my prayers with my ADD. SO my body has been thru a lot.

Now I after 4 days on Paxil and a lot of reading about Paxil, I don't know if I should discontinue them weaning off them is a big dilema.

I've been thru enough big dilemas this month with the ER visits and heart tests only to be told my heart is OK.

Last night I was an hour or so late taking my paxil and I got so dizzy I had to leave a resteraunt ,leave my husband and kiRAB sitting there.
I need pointed in a direction of getting out of this cycle, hopefully med free, while this is still a new cycle. I don't want to be going thru this 10 yrs form now. it neeRAB to end now!! Can Paxil cause dizziness like that? I'm so tired of this, i want to be the girl I was just 12 weeks ago. Thanks for listening.

Wait.. you only have had anxiety for 2 months and your doctor has you on a SSRI? I could understand if you had anxiety for 6-12 months, but after two months? I don't think thats a good idea.

Also about the weaning and the Paxil. Too many people end up reading every possible side effect of every medication ( ESPECIALLY people with anxiety) and it enRAB up scaring them before giving the medication a shot. The Paxil could be the right medication for you that works for you! heck it could be the only one, since everyone reacts differently to SSRI's and what works for one may not work for another. So imagine if you don't give it a shot then go on to try every other SSRI, while all along it was the paxil that will work for you, you'd never know if you stop taking it :(

Now keep in mind i wrote this before re-reading your post that you've only had anxiety for 2 months. Which in that case i would think talking to a therapist would be a better idea for you, since it's still in it's early stages and you're not as far gone as some of us yet.

Her reason was" your in a cycle of fear and that is causing my anxiety", this all started after surgery, with a the big attack, the ER doc believed that it could have been a reation from being on Darvaset for pain and phenergan for nausea. I don't know for sure what has brought to this point except I know whenit started. So she thinks I need help to not let my self get into th extreme panic that I feel when my hanRAB tingle or my heart races or my when my chest or head hurts. Once I can do that and I've been thru a month of retraining my brain then she wants to wean me off.

But I worry that that learning to deal with the panic on the meRAB may not be in my best interest, after reading many many posts on Paxil, few of which are favorable.

I wondered how others got past this and reprogrammed their thinking basically I want a reset button! I had never heard of a painc attack until just a few weeks ago. I may quit the paxil tonight. I hope after 4 days of Paxil I'm not going ot suffer a big set back and withdrawal. It's only been a week since my last trip to ER and heart tests. I had horrible buring in my chest and dizziness, I panicked from there.
