I work at a gas station, and i discovered if someone steals cigarrettes or beer, it comes out of my paycheck. I really don't see this as fair, seeing as I did not commit the theft. If i do notice someone run out of the store with beer if i call the police, get a report, and present a copy to my manager then the cost is not removed from my pay but that does not apply to cigarettes. is there a way i can fight the money being pulled from my check? or am i kinda stuck with having to pay for someone else's theft?
Can an employer legally take pay out of my check for theft i did not commit?
