My friend discovered that after swapping out an old engine and replacing with another used one he got a check engine light code. The code was p1354. We tried to clear it, changed the OCV (oil control valve) and it still ran poorly.
So he thought it was a faulty engine. Takes it out and orders another one with the same result.
We trace it back to the ECU. He has a toyota avalon engine which is the same year as his lexus (they share the same engine). Could he swap Ecu's with the toyota or would that cause problems?
The lexus is a 2000 Es300
