I am registering at Florida State College at Jacksonville (formerly known as Florida Community College at Jacksonville) and am being told it is highly unlikely that I will be able to participate in the nursing program due to the county that I live in. How can this be? Can a State College choose students from one county vs. another, within the same state? Is a State College, not state funded? I have been a Florida resident for over 10 years, so residency is not an issue.
