can a slight reflection of the thecal sac cause constant pain and loss of musle?

at L4-L5 i have some nuclear injury with a slightly larger subligamentous central disc herniation .this small HNP does not lateralize.there is slight reflection of the thecal sac,as the herniation fills the anterior epidural space,but there is no real impingement of neural elements.facets show mild degenerative change without frank spinal foraminal stenosis.
 
just where is your actual pain and the muscle loss located? what was the cause of what you mentioned as a 'nuclear injury"? never heard that before. is this from like a radiation treatment or something?

what would normally be behind any actual loss of muscle(atrophy) would be non use from either movement just causing too much pain so you simply don't push that muscle to the fullest extent, OR it could be from actual loss of nerve flow to the area. more commonly the motor nerve. the motor nerves are just what send signals to muscle in our bodies. marcia
