My bf is taking his first sons mother to court for sole custody .. He already has had someone to serve her court papers. today a sheriff came to my door asking for my bf ,, but he is at work .. so he said these papers are the affidavit from the ex gf... And handed them to me.. But im pretty sure that if someone severs you court papers they have to go directly to you , not anyone Else.. Can her affidavit be dismissed in court because they were Handed to me and not my bf?
Can a sheriff give me the court papers even though they are for my Bf?
