Can a school give you a check for financial aid and ask for a return 5mo. later

because they overcalculated? I was awarded a financial aid check in sept 2009 and now in feb 2010 they want some money back because they overcalculated the award. I attended classes full time and they even cut the same check again in Jan of 2010. does anyone know if this is allowable,. I never dropped below full time.
 
i have never heard of that happening unless they raised tuition, but they cant just ask for it back. why? was the moneyan overage from loans? if so then they cant ask for it back. i would inquire as to why they want it back, to make sure youre not being scammed, becuase it sounds like a scam to me.
