can a middle school Principal check your backpacks and jacket for a cell phone ? ?

ok im in a private school they want to randomly are backpacks and jacket's for cellphones and electronics are they allowed to do that and search you ?

Ask your parents as when my children was in a private school this was one of the rules no phones!!!!And rightfully so you are sent there to learn not to text your friend sitting in front of you.You see not only am I a mom but BOTH of my daughter in laws are teachers and tell me what you do in their class rooms.
 
Don't matter what school ur in, when u are on the property, they have a right to check anything, including lockers.
