My boyfriend recently became a Marine, he graduated from Boot Camp in early October and is now fulfilling the next required step though... he has realized the USMC is not for him. He is extremely depressed and needs to leave immediately.

I understand that if he is discharged it will be dishonorable but how does he go about leaving? (Who must he speak to? Is it even possible for him to leave now?)

Please help.

They've already spent a lot time and money on turning him into a marine. They're not going to give him up easily.
He can start by talking to his chain of command to see what they can do for him.

Honestly, ALMOST EVERYONE that finishes boot camp thinks the military isn't for them. He just has to give it time to get used to his new life for the next 4 years.
The easiest and cleanest way out is to finish your contract.
