Can a marine leave marine boot camp in the middle of it? I know someone in a marine boot camp right now, and they've been there for two weeks now. I got a letter today with them telling me they wanted to leave and are trying to get out. Is it possible for someone to go to marine boot camp and then decide they want to leave and not be a marine anymore? Or are they committed to having to finish through boot camp?

Ugh. Listen boot camp is hard, everyone knows this. It is common knowledge. However it is not the boot camp of Vietnam, things have change durasticly. Your friend should keep their head down, and drive on. It is worth it in the end. Also, the first three weeks, is the hardest.

However there are ways out. I mean the person can say they are gay and usually that does it. However, they can also refuse to train and play that game as well. HOWEVER, if they lie and it is caught, it could potentially hurt their military and civilian career after.

Either way lying is wrong, and refusing to train would take about the same time to get out as finishing the training. Just finish the training. You think that is hard? Try failing our flopping out, and coming home to the family and friends who were so proud of you joining. Now that person just let them down. I am sure that is hard.

Don't quit.
