The sex offender registration law says that 30 days prior to being released from jail or prison that a sex offender must provide an approved address...a "homeplan." Without a home plan, they are not allowed to leave jail. Someone in this county (Jefferson County, AL) has been released without a homeplan and now he is just out walking the streets(literally). The sex offenders task force told him he had 3 days to find a place. Then when he didnt have a place in 3 days, they gave him 2 more. Then 2 more. I know for a fact that this person never even tried to find a place. He wants someone to feel sorry for him and GIVE him a place. He fusses that he someone doesnt help him find a place. He doesnt understand why people dont just hand him money or put him in a motel. (I wish someone would put me up in a motel!lol)
He says "I havent done anything." When he was reminded that he raped someone, he got really angry. While he was out on probation, he had 3 counts of Dom. Violence. Obviously there is a anger problem. Anyway, Jefferson County, Alabama has a real problem. Why make a law then not uphold it. Can a judge just ignore the law like that?
