...velocity greater than c? Does the univeral speed limit proposed by Einstein apply to the expansion of the universe? If not, will the light emitted by galaxies far enough away to be receding at a rate greater than c ever reach Earth?
The expansion of space causes all of the galaxies to separate at rates that depend upon their distance from each other. If this separation rate due to the expansion of the space between them and Earth is greater than the speed of light, will their light every reach us?
