Can a education bursary from Ireland be taxed if I study in the UK?

I'm an Irish student currently studying in scotland. I'm applying for a national insurance card and am afraid that this might make my education bursary liable to be taxed.

Is it possible for the UK government to tax something like this? I'm just worried because its coming from a different country and might be liable here.
