can a Dodge Ram 1500 use a snow plow?

i hear from my friend it cant and from another friend, 'its a truck, why not'.

can a 1500 SLT support a snow plow or do i need to look for a more powerful truck
..a 4x4 by the way
i hear it could void warranty?
 
my buddy in utah clears snow in the winter time with his dodge , from what he was telling me, that the same quality plow for a dodge is a lot more expensive, most people he knows use older suburbans because of the weight distribution. ( i think his is a 1500, 4-door 4x4 for sure )
