Can a collection agency discuss this with my hubby?

I have a Mastercard that I owe $440.00 on that was turned over to a collection agency. I am the only person on this card,I had this account before I was married and is it under my maiden name. Been married for 3 yrs. My hubby is NOT on this account as an authorized user or a co-signer. This account has been in collections for about 4-5 yrs. Today the collection agency called and told my hubby that they were calling about this account, how much the account was and that they were going to attach my wages if this account was not paid. When I called them back. Their secretary was very upset and told me this was illegal and this should have never been discussed with my hubby not threatening my wages. When the manager got on the phone he told me they could discuss this with my hubby and the only thing they did wrong was mention the attachment of wages. What rights do I have now? Are they allowed to discuss this without my permission? BTW, we live in WV in case that matters.
