Can a church go out of business?

Like what if a church doesn't bring in enough money in their offering or what if they poorly manage their funds. Can a church go out of business and have to shut its doors?

The premise of your question contains misleading assumptions.

It is possible for a group of believers (church) to no longer be able to financially support some facility or accoutrement.

However, a true church exists irrespective of any building, material good, or financial status. A group of believers meeting in an open field is a church. So a church can lose everything, but that doesn't mean that the church ceases to be.
The body of believers is more than buildings and 501.c(3) incorporations.

Yes it definitely can!
The wee church up the road from me lost all it's customers to the Pentecostal head cases five kilometers away, and they basically poached them from the other.
Very christian like eh?..Not!

They don't pay property taxes, and usually don't have a mortgage either. The only bills to pay are roof repairs, electricity, and the pastor's salary.

Yes, this happens very frequently, especially with non-denominational churches. Every "church" which operates legally in teh United States is a business organization according to tax code.

Yes you have to remember in 1950 going to church was expected from everybody. Other religions wasn't heard off!

As those "good times" changed people began to not go as much anymore. With less attendance churches we're forced to make changes. Even merge two churches into one to keep the volume up.

Nowadays you will see that though 'on every corner a church" seems true in some areas but those churches are far away from their hayday. And quite a few are being sold and put to other use.

Self I would put a gothic/ethereal bar in on, with also a rock/metal area ;)

And I have to agree with Monica, Church in the end is NOT the building. It is a congregation of Christians! That can be on an open field, in the forest, in a rented space at a local bar etc!
