I have a device that has a specs claiming in has a 2400 mAh Polymer Lithium Battery inside.
Inside the casing I found a battery with this info: 3.7V 2000 mAh.
My question is: Can a battery's mAh be boosted by electric components between the battery and the unit's output port? In this case an apple/Ipod/iphone style connector.
Or is this a case of Misrepresentation of Specs?
I would assume nothing could increase the mAh, but I don't have a degree in electronics.
thanks for any help.
Additionally it rates the output of the unit as 5.0V --- 0.5A
which differs from the 3.7 volts on the battery inside? ? ?
