Hi,
I recently bought a Ford Fiesta '95 1.2 and am beginning to wish i hadn't!!! The guy made me sign a sold as seen reciept so i guess i should have smelled trouble then.....
The main problem with the car is that it will sporadically decide it will not start, not even turn over...i get clicks when i turn the keys if i am lucky. Obviously we assume the battery is dead so have been re-charging it with a battery pack...sometimes just a decent drive will recharge battery, sometimes it dies as i am going. Have had the alternator checked its giving out 11 apparently which i know is not optimum voltage but these other strange occurances is what bothers me.......
#1 When i use indicator rev counter leaps up and down to the click!
#2 Airbag light flashes on and off randomly
#3 Whining noise comes through my radio in tune to revs
Can i make clear that whenever these things happen i am well aware that the car will not respond if engine is turned off and then attempt to restart!!
Fan belt and battery has been replaced and have recently been informed by a freind that the battery was fine...have had various suspected bad earths cleaned up by the same freind but still no joy...something it appears is draining battery very quickly.
PLEASE HELP!!! I am stuck at home no transport at weekends and dont want to be ripped off with a huge bill by some good for nothing mechanic!!

Thankyou i am thinking of replacing the Alternator anyway just to eliminate the possibility, i am worried that i will still hav problems after spending more money on the alternator, can the alternator cause those above electrical issues too?
