can a 95 dodge dakota automatic v6 transfer case go in a 92 dodge dakota standard v6?

yes it still has the case but theres a foot long crack in it and its manuel shift so its in the same place and do i have to take off the automatic case to measure that too cause i have to buy it first i need to know if it will work before i buy it
