Can a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX keyless remote key work for an LX?

The LX remote keys that you can buy online seem to have a key that needs to be re-cut by a dealer. I already have the keys. I just want to be able to lock and unlock the doors wirelessly. Can Can the 2007 Honda Oddyssey EX keyless remote key be programmed to work on an LX? I'm trying to avoid a trip to the dealer since the owner can program the keyless remote on his own.
