Can 2000 Ford Taurus' Ball Joints, be Replaced Separately from the Steering Knuckle?

Repair Manuals all say they are an "integral part of the Steering Knuckle", hence may not be serviced separately. Obviously selling the entire Knuckle is most profitable for Ford.
