Can 2 cars have the same starter? Chrysler cirrus...?

I have 95 Chrysler cirrus, 2.4L, 4 cylinder car. And I was just wondering if there was a different car that has pretty much the same engine. I need the starter, and at our local pick-up-parts there are none of my vehicle make. I was thinking maybe the dodge stratus, the engines look pretty much exact. Would they have the same starter? Who can I call to find out? Auto Zone said it was impossible for them to cross-refrence it. Thanx
 
Try searching on line at Auto Zone's web page. See what part number comes up for your car, and see what comes up for a Stratus. If it's the same, your problem is solved. If it's not....keep hunting. Check in your town for a shop that specializes in starters and generators. You may find that they can repair yours at less cost. Or, if you have to buy one outright, they may have it for less.
