I am 16 weeks pregnant and we have a two and a half year old boy. We were thinking of going camping for one or two nights. Did you ever go with a toddler, or would you? Is it okey for me to go camping while pregnant? Any suggestions? We live in Illinois and would probably camp around here or Wisconsin or Indiana. We just want to make it fun for our toddler, and have him experiance something else. What do you think? What would we need? What kind of tent would be best? Anything would be apprecaited as far as suggestions.

As long as you are not on bed rest and planning on doing something insanely dangerous you should be fine if you are pregnant. I found out I was pregnant when I was in the military, while I was out in the field, had taken a PT test 3 days before, and had a company run that morning. My daughter was more than fine, she was 2 weeks late! Bring some magnifying glasses so your baby can look for bugs thats exciting for my 2 year old.

I recently took my three year old camping for the first time. If it is his first time camping I would suggest a cabin or a camper then transition to a tent next time. Make sure you bring things from home that he is used to like his blanket and pillow, favorite cereal, and toys. Be careful with campfires because it only takes a second for a little one to be right beside it.
