I am going camping for thanksgiving (i have a camper) And my work is giving out free turkeys for thanksgiving but the turkey wont fit in the oven or Dutch oven... so i though some more and came up with the idea of using a spit to roast the Turkey but i didnt want to spend money on a big old fancy one so i thoug i could build one or if some one could let me know were to get a cheap one. Please anwser quickly. And also try to keep it within 20-30 dollars Thanks for all the help

Well if you don't want to spend over 20-30 dollars, you could always make a spit. All you would need

1. an open fire.

2. A rod to put through the turkey. Either Metal or Wooden, if wooden, use a piece of alive wood/green still.

3. Make two Y shape sticks, put the rod with the turn over the fire using the 2 Y shapes.

4. Cook for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours for an 6-8 pd. turkey. Remember to keep turning, so you don't burn the turkey.

5. Enjoy, but let it cool. Also be careful not to burn yourself when using open flame.
