Camping in oregon not at a camp site?

some friends and I wanted to go camping for spring break in the end of march. we don't want to be surrounded by a ton of people at a camp site and we all kind of wanted to go some place where we were completely in the woods, go natural camping. do you know of any good places in oregon that aren't a 10 hour drive away from portland?

we wanted some place by water, that wouldn't be freezing the entire day.
