Camping at Oh Ridge (June Lake)?

We're planning to here on July 4 weekend but do not have a reservation. I've read that they have 'walk-ups' or 'first come first serve' basis for some of the campsites.

Does anyone how how many sites (approximately) will they give out for walk ups? Should I go early to get a number? If so, how early? We'll be driving 6 hours to reach our destination.
