My husband has recieved orders to report to Camp Pendleton in two weeks. We have a cat and a dog (Lab 55 lbs), so I was curious to know if anyone has traveled there before with pets. Are there pet friendly transition homes/apts we stay in when we first get there to give us a few days to find a place? We've decided to live off base. At least for now since there is a 3-6 month wait list for on base housing. In any event.. My husband keeps assuring me people move there all the time with pets. Which I'm sure is true. But I've emailed a few hotels on base, all of which are NOT pet friendly. We are moving from Michigan to California, driving... And my main concern is what we are going to do, or how/if they are going to be able to accomidate us and the pets. I've found a few hotels off base very close, but I'm wondering if the USMC will help us or do we need to help our selves?
