What?!?

You work for Shaw and get a Rogers discount?!

I work for Rogers, and we definitely do NOT get a Shaw discount.

John, Vancouver, BB pearl 8100, Just switched back to Rogers after 5 years with Bell. I wanted to get the new 8703e with Bell but because I just renewed my plan early this year, they would not give any discount at all towards puchasing the 8703e. $699.95 was what they wanted me to pay for one without a hardware upgrade. I asked customer service if they could give me any kind of credit towards my account such as a $50 credit... and their answer was no! I was willing to buy the unit but not at a full price. I was ready to pay $650.00 for the darn unit at the store but they did not budge!

So long Bell and hello Rogers! Glad to be back on GSM.

Signed contract...er.....agreement with Rogers - got w810i for $299 - now they're offering it for $199 - a little pissed at that but then I went and got myself the Pearl (off of ebay) - and am QUITE pleased.

Like GSM since I like to change device every 4 to 6 months...love SIM cards...
Using a Pearl right now...will go to the 8800 once it's launched....
Clear reliable service so far!

I actually went to a Rogers presentation/sales pitch yesterday about the whole convergence between wired/wireless and business and got to play with the Pearl a bit as well as look at other Rogers wireless products that are out and coming out. I don't know if it is just me but I really don't like the small keyboards that have two letters per key.

Came over from Telus. They are way to far behind on handsets. Will move wifes phone too when whe is done with Telus. I love the Pearl for a personal phone. I have a Bell 8703e for work too. They need to switch to Rogers.

Rogers customer for four years.

Why? Price point I guess. I can't remember why I switched.....

Telus and Bell have better coverage in BC, but, Telus are a bunch of communists and Bell doesn't really have their act together - Why can't I get a bundle for Wireless and TV services? Bell is by far better than the rest of them, if you phone them, a live human picks up the phone - AMAZING!

I really don't like Rogers...... but the other guys don't have a device I want. I was almost ready to bite the bullet, spend $200 per device to get out of my contract and sign up with Bell...... until a very smart customer service person figured out how to get me a hardware upgrade.

GSM always get the best device first, except for the Q. I must say, I prefer the keyboard on the 8703e from Bell versus the 8700R.

What do I hate about rogers:

- stupid *** data plans that are way too expenseive
- the arrogance of the accounting department and their overly aggressive collection schemes. Bill due on the 31st? If you don't pay it by the 5th, expect a phone call every day until you do.
- constantly changing their plans and not telling their subscribers - I mean, i have data plan - they KNOW how to contact me.
- changes to hardware upgrade program.

Why I went with Rogers.... Only GSM in Canada, been with Bellus (bell / telus), and got treated WORSE that the Bad treatment that I'm getting with Rogers... So I picked the better of the worse

Amp'd is comin to Canada ( partnering with Telus) in March, too bad they don't have Blackberrys

I was recently employed by Rogers, i had no cell phones before that lol. Started with a Nokia 2610(crappy!) and fell in love with the Pearl when trying it out in store.

Vancouver (actually live in burbs)
8100, used to have MOTO RAZR (black)
BES, using with Microsoft Exchange / Outlook
Brand new BB user, already completely hooked
Using Rogers only because of GSM (travel a lot), I think their coverage is poor

Hi Folks,

I was wondering is any Rogers/TELUS/Bell employees would care to comment on Roger's "Direct Delivery Option" 'feature':

I am between jobs right now, so don't have the luxury of a "Data" account, but would still like to continue getting e-mail on the BB via SMS. However Rogers has me jumping through hoops to do it (see rant below)...

How does this compare with SMS at TELUS and Bell, and am I correct in feeling a little preterbed?
