Calling all Cricket Reps...

Wondering if anyone could give me some advice. This weekend my friend tried to pay his Cricket bill (he can only pay with cash) and a rep told him the Cricket system was down. It was down this whole weekend. Well because of that his phone was going to get shut off. So he called up CS and was given a bridge payment. Only problem was since the system was down he couldn't do the bridge payment. Well the bad luck continues because he somehow broke his phone.

Is there anyway to get the late fee dropped and possibly the new ESN change dropped? Or is he stuck with 30 bucks in fees?

LOL yea I figured there probably won't be much of a chance for him. Hopefully though he can get through to a supervisor and maybe get the late fee waived.

Whats going on is all Cricket Corporate stores are switching systems from H.O. system to an Intergrated CID system that premier dealers use. Its a little more advanced but its the basic interface and functions. Cricket has been working on this system for about a year and the transistion is harder than expected. The I.T. Team has many errors to fix which is causing crashes at all locations including premier stores (franchise type). Should be running smooth shortly though.

Thanks Amoamare, another user offered his services already. Gonna talk to my friend in a minute though and see if he was able to get anything done. I am going to give him my old phone if he wants it so he can at least have something. Thanks for the update Taytay

Yeah, I will do a complimentary ESN Change and/or rate plan/feature change as a favor as well to any respectable meraber of the forum.

Jokes on you! I'm hardly respectable...lol just joking. Yea I think the biggest issue he is having is because he only deals in cash and can't use someone else's card why should he have to pay for a reconnect fee for late payment? Which I understand, hopefully they will not screw him, but anyone who has dealt with Cricket knows it's like pulling teeth.

Also thanks to everyone offering their services! It gives me a warm fuzzy feeling to know there are still helpful people out there!

Just an update, my friend was able to get the reconnect fee waived and will be getting my old phone turned on after lunch today. Thanks for all the offers and everyone that replied to this thread!

For future reference if this happens to anyone else you should really call care before your phone is shut off, they may b able to keep you on. if you are dealing with a dealer, try another dealer as it is possible only that one dealer is having an issue.

Hey there everybody. I'm Burgertime's friend. I just wanted to thank everybody for all their assistance during this absurdity. I quoted taytay24's response to one of the many csr's I spoke with & it had a noticeable effect. She stopped talking to me like an irate fool & took seriously my concerns after that.
I did call care before the phone was disconnected. The csr I spoke with didn't not have a very good grasp of the english language & did not seem to understand my situation. She set me up with a bridge plan & rushed me off the line. System was still down the next day, so I couldn't fulfill the terms of the bridge plan and service was soon gone. I was busy until late in the night, so I didn't notice the lack of phone service until customer service was closed. As far as other stores, the "system" was out all over town.
Thanks again everybody!
