In the story there is a good witch who is always waiting by the shore for someone close to her that was "eaten" or taken away by the waves.
there is also a man who teaches english at a school and ends up falling in love with a maid who works for his mother. she ends up getting pregnant.
there is also another man who works at a restuarant and is fired after making a ceasar salad.
there are two women, one is pregnant and the other desperately wants to have a child but cannot bare one. the pregant lady cannot take care of the child so she decides that after the baby is born she will give it to her friend, the lady who cannot bare children who is also the wife of the man who gets fired after he makes a ceasar salad "incorrectly."
the stories take place within a villiage in cuba (i think).
there is also a bad witch, a man, who will cast a bad spell on someone who hate if you pay him.
