Call me crazy, but I don't understand why Bill Clinton's 'scandal' was any of the governments business?

I just really honestly don't.I mean, isn't that his personal business?Does that have anything whatsoever to do with politics or government? Not ...... really ..........I mean, it is bad that he lied under oath, but why did he even have to speak about the situation under oath? Is it any ones else's business? How embarrassing for Hillary ..Please explain how this became a govenment problem?

Because we advertise our government as being free of corruption and try to convince the rest of the world that it is an honorable government. Then some jerk, rapist lying hillbilly comes along and makes a mockery of it. I hope he rots in hell for this and the rapes he commited.

If it has nothing to do with politics or government, then why is this in the politics and government section?Contradictions, contradictions..."I did not have sexual relations with that woman."He lied to the American people, it is now our business.

I would say The White House is pretty significant to government business. Especially when things take place in that building.

The problem is that he was holding the highest office in the world. He lied to the American people. Was it the governments business? NO. Was it the American People's business? YES

Because he straight up lied, thats kind of a big deal for the person who is running our country!

It was incest, he was charged, and he lied under oath. That's two things that are against the law.

I think its a little different when the leader of our Nation is having sex in his office. Although I agree it should have been between him and his wife, it was brought into the public, and he should have maned up. He chose to lie over and over, but that's the Clinton way.

hmm, let's see. Lets say you get a job... Say your boss catches another dude doing that to you... Would you be fired?? probably, and so would the dude. Now take that, and the whole world knows... make sense now? He had a duty to the nation... instead, slick willy was smoking stinky cigars (maybe stinky) ... but he didn't inhale... remember...

It was a scandal because the US public is still of a prepubescent mindset when it comes to sexuality.

It happened in the Oval Office and he lied about it.Unfortunately, the scandal really hurt our chances of getting bin Laden. On August 20, 1998 the Clinton family was dealing with the biggest hit of the scandal and he made the decision to bomb bin Laden. He missed him by minutes. A Republican accused President Clinton of trying to distract from the "real" issue.

I completely agree with you. It had no bearing on whether or not he was a good President. And quite honestly, I don't care what anyone says, you'd be pretty hard pressed to find ANY straight, red-blooded American guy who wouldn't take some nice girl up on an offer like that. I have to laugh at all of the people who act all high and mighty when in reality, they'd be right there with her head in their lap, too! Hypocrites.

That was a personal problem, I don't understand why it was anybody's business. It was between him and his wife. The Repuplicans were just so hot to get him in trouble with whatever they could find. Other Presidents have cheated on their wives, both Democrats and Republicans. No other President in history has ever been forced to talk about infidelity under oath. It was totally ridiculous. If that didn't work, I guess they might have asked him if he ever masturbated or forgot to put the toilet seat down. I will never trust Republicans after the Clinton impeachment. They seem to care more about their party than the USA.

the president has a very busy daily schedule....ok so what if he cancels a few meetings with people who spent alot of time and money to see him...just so he can get off....not everybody(people that have important issues) that wants to see the president will get a chance for some face to face time....but somehow an intern gets a big slice of his time and for what?

He lied under oath to Congress and that is a felony. It amounts to an "Obstruction of Justice" charge which fits the "high crimes and misdemeanors" criteria required to impeach.

Ha! YA! it was! Don't you think America would like to know what there president is like?!?!

Do you ever watch the Sopranos? It's a soap opera about an mafia family in New Jersey named the Sopranos. The old leader is gone and his son, Tony Soprano has taken over the mob. The old leader's brother, called Uncle Junior is not happy with being stepped over. He and Tony don't get along.Tony learns that Uncle Junior who has a younger girlfriend "pleases her" in ways that many guys consider un masculine. So Tony starts teasing Uncle Junior, just to embarrass him, get him riled up and off balance. Tony does this to advance his own interests at the expense of Uncle Juniors. And that is the Clinton impeachment scandal.
