I'm looking to backpack in California with my dog. I would prefer the Sierra and I'd rather stay away from the coast. Does anyone know good areas where dogs are allowed in the backcountry? It would be great if anyone knew the rules for state parks, national forests, wilderness areas, BLM land, etc.
