During the last few track seasons, my calf has tended to seize up during my warm downs. My legs feel fine during the warm-up and sprinting exercises, but as soon as I go on a warm down jog, my calf will seize up very tightly for a second or two, usually causing extreme discomfort and often pain. This usually leaves my leg feeling like it will happen again if I continue running on the warm down. When I run distance in the fall, I never get anything like this, or at least anything at this level. Does anyone know what's going on here?
