Last night my t3 hung while hot synching on calendar. I have agendus version 7 installed No previous problems. At the offce where I run win 98se ( win xp at home) it hung on calendar synch again. I tried purging events older than one week and got the same results ( purged from my desktop) I have done a soft reset of t3 and rebooted wind 98. What to do now?

Something got corrupted as you state so here is my suggestion:

Have the desktop overwrite the handheld.....this should fix the issue. Go into the Hot Sync manager and under custom choose the Calendar conduit the choose change - Click on the option to have Desktop Overwrite Handheld - be certain to uncheck the "set as default" option and then hit the hot sync button.

This should clear the corruption.

If it doesn't for some strange reason then I'd suggest you'll have to delete the two calendar databases on the handheld and try to sync again....but that shouldn't be necessary.

I had deleted calendar events older than on eweek on both computers. No joy. Then I purged events older than on eweek on my T3 and the synch now functions perfectly. I wonder if its becasue I use agandus with icons for events making each of them take more space than if without icons. At any rate many thanks for your suggestion mooseman and hopefully if this happens to others the solution is universal.

Glad you fixed your problem. For a long time now (since the beginning, in fact) I've always been fastidious about PURGING events that have been done in Agendus, usually purging up to that very day (today's date).

Because of Mooseman's comments about Agendus's "great contact management" I have given some thought to NOT deleting past to-do's at all, and perhaps not even have them "disappear" but simply "be lined out" and marked complete ("Show Completed Items").

HOWEVER . . is acolythes's problem likely to occur if you just RETAIN everything? I've certainly got the memory to spare and it wouldn't take more than 30-40k anyway . . .

Is that the only way to PRESERVE CONTACT HISTORY? It seems to me that if you purged completed to-do's and meetings, your contact history would evaporate unless you EXPORTED to csv first . . . but then it isn't on the handheld at all.

Thoughts on this please . . . depending on whether acolythes's problem is common if you DON'T PURGE older events, it might revolutionize the way I keep track of things. As of now I have NEVER used Agendus for contact history - just "to-do's with an icon, category hi-liting and MakeSpot shading.

Unless you reached the size limit of the Calendar program, which if memory serves is somewhere around 5,000 records, I'd say limit wasn't the issue.

I've got 3 years of Outlook data and 1200 addresses loaded into just the Treo and the only corruption issues I've ever had was when I temporarily loaded Datebk5. The corruption was caused by the infamous @@@ that Datebk5 uses to encode it's icon's.

I think that the corruption might just be an anomoly caused by poor conduit management by Palm's conduits. Or some other undetermineable hiccup.

I've never gotten a corrupted database, other then as noted above, because I've always used Pocket Mirror Pro for syncing. I've used it since it was available and all of my records are stored in Outlook and then occassionaly backed up to the PalmDesktop using the Pro's feature to do so.

I'd say that it was just one of those computer hiccups.
